Kitech Performance and Dash customs have got together and put a stage 1 onto the Harley-Davidson XR1200. The XR1200 was supplied by Stratstone Harley-Davidson of Wolverhampton and the Dyno facilities where supplied by Wylie and Holland Motorcycles of Wellington.
Dash Customs is a new company specialising in exhaust systems manufactured in Carbon fiber and Stainless Steel, they look and work well with or without baffles.
The XR1200 was fitted with the Dash carbon fiber slip-ons and a Piper Cross air filter, the solenoid operated flap valve was removed from the airbox, however, the solenoid itself was retained to avoid any Diagnostic trouble codes from the ECU.
We used a Kitech PowerPro Standard (PPF-10710) straight out of the box - no settings where changed on the PowerPro. As you can see from the dyno sheet below we achieved significant gains in horsepower. The fuel curve could be improved to make more horsepower gains in mid-range but the idea behind this test run was to see how well it all performed straight out of the box.

We will run the same test on the XR1200 with the Kitech PowerPro Active when this becomes available.
This will smooth out the fuel curve and give MAXIMUM POWER right across the rev range.
